“Palestine” is the historical name of the land

“Palestine” is the historical name of the land, not the modern name as some people claim..... The first indications of the use of the name “Palestine” for the geographical region located south of the Levant are what the Greek historian Herodotus wrote in his writings in the “fifth century BC”, when he referred to the regions of the Levant and Mesopotamia as “Syria” and to their south as “Palestine” ( Παλαιστινη Palestine) and "Syrian Palestine". At the beginning of the era of the Islamic Caliphate, Palestine was called “Jund al-Filastin,” and its borders overlapped with “Jund al-Urdun.” In the picture (a penny) from the Umayyad era, in which the name “Palestine” is mentioned.
